PARIS HILTON TWEETED COCAINE-PURSE PIC? Paris Hilton may have to back-track on her "the purse was not mine" defense for her recent cocaine possession arrest. The heiress reportedly told cops that the purse containing the drug was not hers -- however earlier this summer she tweeted a picture of a similar-looking bag with the caption, "Love My New Chanel Purse I got Today. :)." Whoops!

'TRANSFORMERS' EXTRA HURT ON SET: An extra on the set of Transformers 3 was hospitalized earlier this week after suffering a severe head injury while filming. The Indiana State Police reported, "Preliminary investigation revealed that shortly before 7 p.m, the movie crew was filming a stunt using numerous vehicles and drivers. During this stunt, an object struck a 2006 Toyota, hitting the vehicle, and then went through the windshield hitting the driver." Another extra said of the incident: "The vehicle was being towed by another vehicle. The cable between the two vehicles broke. It whipped around and sliced through the woman's car and sliced through her skull, apparently." The 24-year-old woman was airlifted to a hospital, but her condition is unknown.

ALEC BALDWIN HOSTING PETA AWARDS: Alec Baldwin will host People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals' (PETA) 30th anniversary awards gala on September 25th. The 30 Rock star has been a longtime supporter of the organization, having promoted the group's 2008 film Blinders, which documented the harmful effects of horse-drawn carriages. He said, "PETA has become a cultural force through creative campaigns that have made society re-examine its relationship with animals. Nobody looks at fur, meat, circuses, or animal testing the way they did 30 years ago. PETA has brought us a long way, and we have a lot to celebrate."

BRYAN CRANSTON HOSTING 'SNL': Three time Emmy-winner Bryan Cranston has landed a new job -- SNL host. The actor announced that he'll host the show on October second -- marking his first appearance on the program.

'AMERICAN IDOL' WRAPPING UP AUDTIONS IN L.A.: American Idol has announced that its final audition city for season ten will be Los Angeles. The Idol crew will be in L.A. on September 22nd to search for its next star. Executive producer Ken Warwick said, "This summer we have had an exceptional turnout -- both in the number of people auditioning and the level of their talent. Los Angeles has always delivered great talent, and so we feel it only fitting that we end our 10th season audition tour here in our home city." More info is available at americanidol.com

JANE LYNCH GUEST STARRING ON 'iCARLY': Jane Lynch will make a guest appearance on Nickelodeon's iCarly. On the September 11th episode, Carly will try to mediate a conflict between her friend and her friend's mother -- played by Lynch.

NATALIE PORTMAN GETTING OSCAR BUZZ: Natalie Portman is already earning Oscar buzz for her role in Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan. The film, which is "the talk of the town" at the Venice Film Festival, stars Portman as a "ballerina whose fiery passion for performing causes her to become mentally unhinged." The physically demanding role required daily five-hour training sessions -- as well as a lesbian love scene opposite Mila Kunis. The Hollywood Reporter commented that Portman "bravely ventured out of her comfort zone to play a character slowly losing sight of herself. It's a bravura performance."

IS JENNIFER ANISTON DATING LINDSAY LOHAN'S EX?

Jennifer Aniston has reportedly stooped to an all-time dating low. RadarOnline.com reports that the 41-year-old actress recently went on a date with 29-year-old Harry Morton -- best known for dating Lindsay Lohan. Yes, Jen is apparently getting Lindsay's sloppy seconds.

Radar claims that the "mystery man" Jen was recently seen flirting with over dinner, drinks and dessert is Morton, the founder of Pink Taco restaurant chains.

Witnesses said Jen looked "a little nervous, putting her hair up in a loose bun and laughing at everything he said" over dinner.

Harry and Lindsay dated for several months back in 2006.

IS JENNIFER LOPEZ A DONE DEAL FOR 'AMERICAN IDOL'?

After a month or so of rumors, it finally appears as though Jennifer Lopez could be named an American Idol judge. TMZ reports that she's in final negotations with execs and that she's the last piece of the puzzle.

Although the other official puzzle pieces remain unclear, sources say that despite reports, Lopez hasn't called for high demands; that it's "been typical negotiating." If it's true, expect the deal sealed next week. Insiders say that Lopez could be the ticket to bringing more life to the show.

HUSBAND PLANS TO PRESERVE ZSA ZSA GABOR'S BODY AFTER DEATH

Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband Frederic von Anhalt wants to preserve her body after she dies. He told the Bild newspaper earlier this week, "My wife has always dreamt that her beauty would be immortal. I would like to show the plastinated body of Zsa Zsa Gabor in the context of a scene in one of her films."

Plans have apparently already been made for the procedure. Von Anhalt said that German anatomist Gunther von Hagens should do the work, as he's responsible for the Body Worlds exhibitions, which display plastinated bodies with just muscles and tendons intact.

Gabor, who is 93-years-old, has been hospitalized several times in the past couple of months after falling out of bed and breaking her hip.

CHELSEA HANDLER AND DAVE SALMONI SPLIT

Chelsea Handler is single again. Just months after confirming a relationship with Animal Planet star Dave Salmoni, the E! late night host indicated on air that they've split.

She said during an opening monologue this week, "Up until a couple weeks ago, I was working very intimately with the Animal Planet, but unfortunately, that contract was terminated. However, I enjoyed being in bed with them and may hook up for an occasional project."

The upcoming VMA host had mentioned in a previous interview that she and Salmoni, who lives in Toronto, were conducting a long-distance relationship. Prior to dating Dave, Chelsea was linked to Ted Harbert, the head of E!, for four years.

DAVID LETTERMAN EXTORTIONIST RELEASED FROM JAIL

The former TV producer who tried to blackmail David Letterman has been released from jail after serving four months of a six-month sentence. Robert "Joe" Halderman pleaded guilty to attempted grand larceny after he was accused of demanding $2 million from Letterman to keep from revealing personal information about the Late Show host's sexual relationships.

Although Halderman's time at New York's Riker's Island was reduced due to good behavior, he must still complete 1,000 hours of community service. His lawyer said, "He survived this, and he's glad to be getting off the island."

Halderman's actions prompted Letterman to admit on air that he'd had sex with women on his staff throughout the years. He also made a public apology to wife Regina Lasko, whom he's been with since 1986.

One of the women Letterman slept with was one of Halderman's exes. His lawyer admitted the blackmail was prompted by both financial problems and romantic jealousy.

HEARING DATE SET FOR JOE JACKSON'S ESTATE CASE: Michael Jackson's dad Joe is set to appear in court on October 6th to begin arguing that he deserves to receive monthly checks from MJ's estate. According to Eurweb.com, California's Second District Court of Appeal set the date yesterday (September 2nd). As previously reported, Michael's 2002 will did not include Joe and a ruling after the pop icon's death placed his attorney John Branca and family friend John McClain in charge of his affairs. Joe Jackson appealed the ruling in November.

TIGER NOT MOVING INTO NYC BACHELOR PAD: Although reports hit earlier this week that Tiger Woods was moving into a bachelor pad in downtown NYC, sources are reporting that the alleged new apartment is a hoax. According to The New York Post, sources have found that the apartment is an "80's conversion, run down building that is below the golf star's standards. One broker said, "No way Tiger would live there." Sources suggested that if Tiger was spotted moving boxes into the apartment -- as some witnesses have suggested, he may have been helping a girlfriend.

WENDY WILLIAMS ASKED TO TONE IT DOWN FOR TV: Reports say that Wendy Williams has been asked to tone it down for the next season of her talk show, The Wendy Williams Show. According to The New York Post, executives at the show want the host to be a little less "Wendy" to appeal to middle-America moms. The executives reportedly fired her producer Rob Dauber and told her makeup team to tone down Wendy's look and for Wendy to tone down her personality. A show rep denies that there will be any changes starting on Monday (September 6th).

PAULA PATTON CAST IN NEW MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE MOVIE

Actress Paula Patton has been cast in the new Mission: Impossible movie. According to Deadline.com, the actress beat out several Hollywood actresses to star as a young operative working with Tom Cruise.

Patton and Cruise join returning actors Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg along with new-to-the-franchise actor Jeremy Renner. Cameras start rolling this fall.

Mission Impossible is planned for a December 16, 2011 release.

TERESA'S SISTER-IN-LAW JOINING 'REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NEW JERSEY'?

If craziness runs in families, The Real Housewives of New Jersey is about to get insane. RadarOnline.com reports that Teresa Giudice's sister-in-law Melissa Gorga might be joining the cast next season.

A source told RadarOnline.com, "I believe Melissa is coming on the show because they're at her house filming. They've been filming for weeks . . . at first she wasn't sure she wanted to go on the show, but she decided to accept it."

Maybe Melissa can help her sister-in-law with her financial troubles, as sources claim she and her husband are loaded. The insider explained, "Melissa's husband used to have a landscaping business and then he got into real estate. And she used to do his paperwork as his secretary and now she is a housewife. Their house is actually twice the size as Joe and Teresa's. It's enormous! She has two live-in nannies and lives in a $4 million mansion on an exclusive lot in Montville. Teresa and Joe's house looks like a garage compared to theirs."

A rep for the show told RadarOnline.com, "We've announced the show is coming back, but haven't made any announcements about casting yet."

Supposedly Teresa and Melissa don't get along and Teresa has threatened to quit if Melissa joins the cast.

THE SITUATION BUYS $100,000 BENTLEY

Reports that Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is making $5 million this year must not be far from the truth as the reality star just shelled out $100,000 for a 2008 Bentley coup.

The Situation will have some stylish company on the road: TMZ reports that his brother/manager, Marc Sorrentino, got a slightly less-expensive 2008 Bentley. The cars were reportedly both paid for by the brothers' company, MPS Entertainment.

Before their rides are ready to hit the road, TMZ reports that the guys are getting custom rims and "sweet" sound systems.

'JERSEY SHORE' SEASON 3 IS A WRAP

The third season of Jersey Shore is a wrap. RadarOnline.com reported that the cast celebrated with a private party earlier this week, which was "really low key in comparison with how they normally are." The insider explained, "No one was falling down drunk and there were no fights. It was surprising to say the least."

The celebration took place at a hotel rather than the casts' crib, and although the police did make an appearance -- Radar reports that they just responded to a noise complaint, which had nothing to do with being rowdy.

J-Woww was spotted with new boyfriend Roger Williams, proving that they are still together.

WESLEY SNIPES HIRES P.I. TO FOLLOW STRIPPERTO CLEAR TAX CHARGES

The wife of alleged Ponzi scheme accuser Ken Starr has claimed that Wesley Snipes has hired private investigators to follow the her in order to get evidence to clears him of tax charges. According to The New York Post, Dianne Passage -- who is also a stripper, said, "I was leaving, and I noticed two men trailing behind me. They stood out because they were wearing dark suits on a 90-degree day. They followed me for a block and a half, then I lost them because they were sweating so much.They contacted my doorman and my attorney, and said they wanted information that might help Snipes."

She continued, "He was a client of Starr in 2000 but before I met my husband. I have nothing to do with his taxes."

Starr testified against the actor even though he was busted for running a $60 million Ponzi scheme.

And while Snipes is appealing his 2008 conviction for failing to pay $12 million in taxes, he wants a retrial on the grounds that the jury didn't know Starr was being investigated for the Ponzi scheme.
